Barack Obama Vs. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s Internet Swagger

March 28, 08 by admin

Barack got that “Bitch Please!” look on his face.

Barack Obama has grasped the admiration of of the world and most notably geeks who surf the world wide web. His early exploration into the realm of social media has been discussed at length all over the web and his web presence is a testament of his commitment to the space. The thing that strikes me as interesting about Barack is that his inclusive nature on the web has drawn people’s admiration to him not only as a guy campaigning to become the president of the United States. But also as a man that understands the the nuances of online communities. For instance, Barack’s twitter account has a script that automatically follows anyone who follows him. At this writing Barack follows 18,877 people. Hillary Clinton does not follow anyone on Twitter I’m not the only person who’s noticed this either.

Barack’s Flickr account is another example of inclusive strategy. His team maintains his Flickr account and returns contact request. I am a contact of his, 1 of 3,417. You can’t imagine the feeling of getting email from Barack Obama and yes I know it wasn’t him but the fact that this is important to them signals to me that this is a 21st century thinking campaign. Hillary Clinton’s Flickr account at this writing has 0 contacts listed. The truth is obvious Barack’s campaign strategy from a web viewpoint has been very successful while Hillary’s pales by comparison.

Let’s examine the money generated by both campaigns. As of January, Barack Obama raised an estimated 28 million monthly total in January with signs that total will be exceeded this month. Hillary on the other hand raised about 16 million with another 10 million being transferred from her 2006 senate reelection account. Barack Obama has mastered the art of Campaign via the World Wide Web while Mrs. Clinton resorts to the use of an army of social-networking contacts into an outreach campaign of cell phone callers.

With all told, this has sealed my interest in Mr. Obama. Initially, I didn’t care for him I thought he spoke with a jumble of unsureness in his voice. Obama girl didn’t help my opinion either. Over the months I’ve watched and noted the emergence of swagger and style. Elements to me that indicate Barack has the skill set to walk into a situation and charm himself into relationships with the worlds leaders which undoubtedly, McCain & Clinton could only dream they had. you may say on the backend he’s not connected to the Ole’ Boys club but at this point our relationship with the world is at and all time low. I think The Ole’ Boys club is starting on it’s own downward spiral and thank God. I’d rather live in an uncertain world of people who are at least trying to or represent the idea of fixing it. Then live in a world where people seek to deny problems exist.
