Celebreality & Low Budget Shit Revealed…

May 06, 08 by Netdoc66

FlavWatching VH1’s Flavor Of Love Season 3 & Ego Trip’s Miss Rap Supreme got me to thinking about this whole “Celebreality” phenomenon. Everything I’ve seen so far and including things I’ve been told “off the record” by one of the season 2 participants leads me to suspect that these shows are predetermined before taping begins. We’ll talk about that conversation later. Working with video, I know that events and dialog has to be staged in order to achieve the desired continually. So Flavor Of Love’s every move is a calculated exercise in film making.

Low Budget Shit
CastIf you jump over to a show with an even lower budget like “Miss Rap Supreme” the written storyline seems even more evident. Take for instance the scene where Yoyo appears in the mirror. Initially, Yoyo didn’t appear in the mirror but the the “contestants” appear to address the mirror as if it was a real thing (this has been fixed as of last night’s episode). Khia’s challenge required her to to craft a 16 bars freestyle pertaining to respect which in fact is the title of her first single from her new album. How obvious was this ringer to everyone? I regretfully have to inform you that nothing I read thereafter even mentioned that aspect. I like to think my American people are a lot smarter then we are but the cold reality is that America is a drowning pool when it comes to common sense.

FLAVOR FLAV!!!
Let’s jump back over the Flavor of Love and the truly evil disdain of Sinceer, it’s unnatural. It’s an exaggerated drawing of a woman on a mission. I have personally been around some awesome bitches in my life but I have never witnessed a chick on a mission like Sinceer. It’s not real and even if it was, could Flavor really have feelings for such a despicable woman? My next gripe, the editing style of the show was the final questioning factor. To portray the act of reminiscing in linear fashion to reference past events as having occurred within the current time line is a tactic to trick the weak minded viewer into a show narrative instead of a remembrance past events. While most will not question it. It bothered me.

Conclusion…
My last thread of evidence is within the knowledge obtained by questioning a personal friend of mine that was on the show. First and foremost she signed an NDA so I won’t reveal this person but let’s just say she knew that she was not going to be on the show for the long haul. She was given some behavior patterns that would enhance her “character” on the show. She did things that made me say to myself, “WTF she do that for?!?!?” So I knew it wasn’t her doing. In conclusion, Celebreality what is it? Pure unadulterated & mindless entertainment plain and simple. I think it should be labeled as such because people are stupid, they need labels.

My predictions for these 2 shows…

Flavor Of Love: Thing 2 coming back to the show means nothing. She will not be chosen. The only female in the league of former “Flavettes” is Black. hands down she’s the most post-show marketable one there.

Miss Rap Supreme: The last rapper standing will be Nicky2States. Nicky2States can rap about nothing other than sexual content that puts her within the league of a Lil’ Kim & Foxy Brown. She’s completely marketable as a sexually rapping object. The others offer no post show marketability whatsoever.

Speaking as someone who worked on miss rap supreme, gotta say that you are incorrect about the reality of the girls reacting to Yo Yo in the mirror. The ladies are actually watching a two way mirror with a flatscreen monitor behind it that comes on when its time to deliver a message. It looks like they did some extra special effects in the editing of the show, but other then that its real.

And as far as the storyline being predetermined I cant speak for other shows but i saw with my own eyes that everything that happened on that show. The only thing hthat ispredetermined on miss rap supreme is the challenges and the locations. Other then that everything pretty much happened as you see it on tv……yeah crazy. But its a great show!
