Being here as long as I have, I've seen trends die and become reborn on more then one occassion. Watching people discover these things and how they use them is what drives me to learn.

I’ve prided myself as an early adopter of all things technology based. Well actually, that’s not true. As a child I immersed myself into a fantasy world of Sci Fi. I spent most of my time as a child daydreaming and sketching blue prints of homes, space station and vehicles of the future. School works was not my primary concern back then. My imagination knew no limits and I dreamed of the day we’d have these things.

Fast forward to the future

Well, our future is a lot different than I envisioned. As a child of the 60’s our race to the stars confirmed our commitment to space exploration and the promise of colonization of other worlds. Sadly, we’ve lost the passion generated in those competitive days of the Camelot era as the US raced to be the first nation to put a man on the moon. The visions of a world of worlds sadly won’t happen in our lifetimes, as the dreams of our leaders died rather abruptly with them. Space exploration will have to wait as our economy will take decades to repair.

Cue the Internet

Up until 1995 my life was pretty lack luster. I dreamed of traveling the stars but that would never happen. Luckily, one way to explore that had been foreseen and written about was the Internet. “The Net“ saved my life by giving me an outlet that exposed me to an entire world of knowledge and people I would never meet otherwise. With the Internet, I learned new skills and created opportunities for myself, made a living, purchased a home and gave my life a purpose.

My passion

Above and beyond the various skill-sets I’ve developed over the years, the idea of how people use the Internet has always intrigued me. Being here as long as I have, I’ve seen trends die and become reborn on more then one occasion. Watching people discover these things and how they use them is what drives me to learn. Documenting the things they do has become my passion. It’s understanding people and predicting their actions around technology that gives me my hope for the future and the fact that I can have a hand at shaping it is very important to me.

Ultimately, through social networking we’ll learn the sum of our parts and grow towards a global understanding of our place in this universe. The stability of our world depends on man’s unique ability to affect change in our environments. Just as man destroys, man can rebuild. The promise of a world where drawn borders are erased is the future. The Internet has become my passion for the future.

I’ve made up my mind that in the event Obama is elected president I would take steps to enrich my life in ways I haven’t put serious thought into before. They are as follows.

1. Weight must come off in increments of at least 10 lbs a month.
2. House must be clean and stay clean at all times. Everything must be clean.
3. Set up a health care policy.
4. Pay all bills on time and get rid of redundant bills
5. Examine Tax situation and make arrangements to settle anything that may be pending.

She also took the photos from this myspace account and placed them here in Photobucket.

So what’s the plan Gia? Does anyone really care what these HillBIllies really look like? I could care less. They’re kids and kids fuck up. What’s more interesting to me is that the parent’s don’t have any control over their kids. What impact can this Palin woman have if she can’t control her own family?

Gia you live in the UK so you’re lucky. You don’t have to worry about these HillBillies coming after you. They do love their guns.

It has been a while since this blog was last updated. Life sometimes takes over and drags you along. With that said, I’ve had a few days to figure out what to do with this blog. Well the good news is I think I’ve figured it out. I plan to blog about life as discovered and viewed via Twitter post and links. I’ll offer my opinions and show my readers new and interesting things I find on Twitter. These post will also be a lot shorter because that’s whats micro-blogging is all about.

-Cheers!

Lately I’ve been watching less and less of Comcast programing. The DVR Comcast supplys to me at a cost of $30 bucks a month for 2 boxes is not only disappointing but after 7 years of renting them I’ve paid $2,520.00 for the privilege. THIS IS MADNESS!!! So guess what Comcast? Your set-top children are returning home next week.

The elgato HDHomeRun dual tuner system should stand in prefectly at a cost of $199.00 this little box will allow me to shedule recordings that I can watch either on my Macs or my Plasma TVs all in the Clear QAM format. Clear QAM allows me to access HD channels and regular programming that Comcast sends thru the pipes at a standard access charge.

By running this system off a Mac Mini set-up in my studio I can convert my recorded shows and save them to my iTunes server in the same box. If I purchase an additional Apple TV box and put it in the bedroom I can cover the entire house with stored recorded content. The box also comes with 2 licensed copies of EyeTV 3 which I can install a copy on my desktop machine or the laptop if I feel compelled to watch live TV at anytime. Comcast I’m you’ve been ripping me off for years with your excessive cost and poor service so You get the boot on the premium channels and DVR. Much more can be had for much less.

-holla

UPDATED: This device will not help me since Comcast has pretty much locked down the Clear QAM spectrum altogether.
