I Am, Scobleizer

April 11, 08 by admin

I Am @ScoblizerI’ve been watching this whole @scobleizer FuFu with great interest. Yes he’s in a great position and yes I’m sure he’s got money in the bank, but what a lot of us don’t acknowledge is that Scoble is a member of an elite group. They’re “Social Experts” and there’s not a lot of them. The product Scoble produces is and audience as anyone within this space that knows what their talking about. Your content is not your product. Your product is your audience. Perception is dangerous. When you perceive yourself as someone that’s always going to have a following it can cloud your judgments. “Oh we’re fine, they’re not going anywhere…” can definitely set you up for a rude awakening.

It must hard being in his position with so many people being so critical. It’s not that he’s not talented, he’s just not focused. While the attacks from pundits most likely will not harm him, those of us who occupy the most opportunistic bunch of social participants see blood. click through to see the rest of this entry after the jump →

This Just in… JTV’s trafic spikes indicate the power of streaming illegal content?

I was doing some further investigation on justin.tv’s perceived traffic increase when I ran into this little ditty:

From Valley Wag

“Lifecasting site Justin.tv has come a long way since banning a broadcaster for one night of indecent exposure — that is, sexual acts. There may be less porn now, but other illegal content now graces Justin.tv’s servers. Right now I’m watching a stream of Fox Sports Net West’s broadcast of the San Diego Padres playing the Los Angeles Angels. Last night, more than 2,000 people watched the NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers play. Given Major League Baseball’s draconian online reporting rules — no more than seven photos from any game; audio and video clips can be a maximum of two minutes and can’t be streamed live — we doubt the MLB is happy about this.”

JTV’s 1 Year Aniversary= EPIC FAIL, FAIL & FAIL… (5 reasons there won’t be a second one)

March 22, 08 by admin

Justin Khan, founder of Justin.TVJustin.TV launched as one of the founding platforms for the lifecasting genre. One thing is certainly clear, the boys at JTV aren’t very good at hosting events. Now don’t get me wrong I’d love to see them succeed but my gut instinct tells me that JTV will fail before it’s 2nd anniversary.

Here’s 5 reasons below:
